Fall Ragtime Festival in Tulsa

Just to let everybody know, there is going to be a Ragtime Festival in
Tulsa, Oklahoma this Fall, in honor of the Centennial of Oklahoma's
statehood. This will be a first for the area; even though the group
called Ragtime For Tulsa has been active for years promoting programs
and concerts, this will be their first full Festival event. How it
goes over and how it is attended will determine in great part if they
try anything like this again.

The dates are October 12 and 13, 2007, and the events are to be held
at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, Second Street and Cincinnati

Friday the 12th, 2:30 pm - Oklahoma Ragtime Connections (3 or 4
performers), ticket cost $15.00
Friday the 12th, 7:30 pm - Glenn Jenks and Donald Ryan, ticket cost
Saturday the 13th, 9:30 am - Master Class with Jeff Barnhart as
Saturday the 13th, 2:30 pm - Ragtime's Future - Young Performers
Concert, ticket cost $15.00
Saturday the 13th, 7:30 pm - Jeff Barnhart and Brian Holland in
Concert, ticket cost $20.00
Saturday the 13th, 10:00 pm - Afterhours at the Crowne Plaza Hotel

During this event the winner of the Original Rag Composition Contest
will be announced and the $1000 prize awarded for the "Tulsey Town

An All Events Badge will be offered at $50.00 until October 1, after
that it will be $70.00, and you can order tickets (before Oct 1) by
mail from: Ragtime For Tulsa, 3111 Timberlane Ridge, Sand Springs,
Oklahoma 74063. If you wish your tickets mailed to you rather than
being held at the box office please enclose a stamped self-addressed
envelope. Or, you can order tickets by calling the PAC at

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is next to the venue and is making rooms
available for reduced rates for the event, daily room rate $79 double
+ tax. Block room reservation deadline is September 12, for hotel

As a follow-up to Bill's announcement of Ragtime for Tulsa's fall
festival, I want to remind all rag composers that the contest is open
until July 31. The winning entry, to be titled The Tulsey Town Rag,
