Sue Keller did a concert at the First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo,
Michigan on Sunday, April 5. And wow! What an amazing piano they have.
It's a 9 and one half foot Fazioli F278. Sue assessment is that its the
most fabulous piano she's ever played. Better than the pair of Steinway
D's up at McGill, or the Bosendorfer 290 at Westfields. Even the
Steinway D at the Historical Center in Indianapolis which I think was
her previous all time favorite. But listen for yourself. I posted
links to three selections: Snowy Morning Blues, Kitten on the Keys, And
Solace over on Dan Mouyard's Stride forum:

Nice sounding piano, but I don't care much for her interpretation of Solace.
The links for Snowy & Kitten are broken.

I feel that Sue gives a very nice interpretation of Solace. I enjoy this
piece very much and appreciate the various interpretations from the various
artists. I particulary like the vocals which I had not heard before. Is
Sue the lyricist?

I plan to be at the West Coast Ragtime Festival in Sacramento this weekend
and hope to include one of Sue's sets.

Hi, Colin. The lyricist is named Tony Vincent Isaacs. He's a clarinet
player in England and wrote all the lyrics for the Swingle Singer's
album "Ragtime and All That Jazz". Unfortunately for us that album was
never released here in the US and never made it to CD anywhere. Sue
became aware of it when she heard it being sung a cappella during the
credits of a Harry Anderson made-for-TV Magic Special many years ago.

Sue also does Hot Shot (usually with either Bob Milne or John Arpin
playing) from the same album, sung to the music of Easy Winners but
hasn't ever recorded that one.

Hi, Derek. Sorry about the problem with the links. They apparently only
work if you right-click, copy, and paste them into your browser. Or
navigate to their forum and click on them there. Here's the forum link:
